The Department of Computer Science and the Placement Cell of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala in association with Solitaire Infosys, a leading Software Development Firm organized a two-day skill enhancement and project-based workshop on Python, a programming language. The workshop was conducted by resource persons Harmonjot Singh, Business Development Manager and Chahat Arora, Web Developer and Trainer. The main objective of this workshop was to equip the students with the design philosophy, coding techniques in this language and its implementations in Computer Sciences.
College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal appreciated the Computer Science Department for conducting this workshop and said that Python is one of the most systematic and popular programming languages used in the field of Computer Science for developing websites and software, task automation, data analysis and data Visualization. He motivated the students to focus on project-based learning and to develop their programming skills.
Prof. Vinay Garg, Head, Dept of Computer Science discussed the main objectives of this workshop.
Dr. Sumeet Kumar, coordinator of this workshop welcomed the resource persons and formally introduced them. Dr. Varun Jain, Head of Department of Mathematics and workshop co-ordinator told that this workshop will be useful for the students of Computer Sciences but it is also open for students of BSc CSM, PGDCA, MSc-I, MSc-II and MSc-IT and any other student who is keen to learn computer languages.
During the workshop the resource persons demonstrated with examples and presentations the usages, implementation and fundamental concepts of Python. They said that python is with clear and readable syntax, extensive collection of frameworks, active community and widespread industry adoption. This is why most of the developers choose Python as their primary programming language.
Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, placement officer presented the vote of thanks. Dr. Ajit Kumar, Controller (Examinations), Dr. Ganesh Sethi, Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Ms. Honey Wadhawan, Ms. Kritika Goyal, Ms. Priyanka Singla, Ms. Sunita Gupta, Mr. Sukh Sehaj Singh were present in this workshop. More than 100 students participated in this workshop.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਸੈੱਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸੋਲੀਟੇਅਰ ਇਨਫੋਸਿਸ, ਇੱਕ ਉੱਘੀ ਸਾਫਟਵੇਅਰ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਫਰਮ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਤੱਵਪੂਰਣ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ, ਪਾਈਥਨ ‘ਤੇ ਦੋ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਅਧਾਰਤ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਸੋਲੀਟੇਅਰ ਇਨਫੋਸਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇਚੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਰਿਸੋਰਸ ਪਰਸਨ ਹਰਮਨਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬਿਜ਼ਨਸ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਹਤ ਅਰੋੜਾ, ਵੈੱਬ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਰ ਅਤੇ ਟਰੇਨਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਈਥਨ ਦੀ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਇਨ ਫਿਲਾਸਫੀ, ਇਸ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਕੋਡਿੰਗ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਟਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਦੇਣਾ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਾਈਥਨ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੌਫਟਵੇਅਰ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ, ਟਾਸਕ ਆਟੋਮੇਸ਼ਨ, ਡਾਟਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣ ਅਤੇ ਡਾਟਾ ਵਿਜ਼ੂਅਲਾਈਜ਼ੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਰਤੀ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪੂਲਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਅਧਾਰਤ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ‘ਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ ਹੁਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਿਨੇ ਗਰਗ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਕੋਆਰਡੀਨੇਟਰ ਡਾ. ਸੁਮੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਰਿਸੋਰਸ ਪਰਸਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਸਮੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਈ । ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਗਣਿਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਕੋਆਰਡੀਨੇਟਰ ਡਾ. ਵਰੁਣ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਪਯੋਗੀ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ- ਸੀ.ਐਸ.ਐਮ., ਪੀ.ਜੀ.ਡੀ.ਸੀ.ਏ, ਐਮ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ.ਭਾਗ-1, ਐਮ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ.ਭਾਗ-2 ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ, ਜੋ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਚਾਹਵਾਨ ਹਨ, ਲਈ ਵੀ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੀ ਰੱਖੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਰਿਸੋਰਸ ਪਰਸਨਜ਼ ਨੇ ਪਾਈਥਨ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਸਿਧਾਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਸੰਕਲਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਦਾਹਰਣਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਨਣ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਾਈਥਨ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਯੋਗ ਸੰਨਟੈਕਸ, ਫਰੇਮਵਰਕ ਦੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਿਹਾਂ, ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ-ਮੁਖੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਰ ਪਾਈਥਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਇਮਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਚੁਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ (ਪਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ) ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ, ਮਿਸ ਹਨੀ ਵਧਾਵਨ, ਮਿਸ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੀਕਾ ਗੋਇਲ, ਮਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਿਅੰਕਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਮਿਸ ਸੁਨੀਤਾ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਟਰ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਿਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਵਿੱਚ 100 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ।
